Greening my corner

I got an orchid plant for mother's Day last year.
I've managed to keep it alive and well for most of that time. So much so that it might be putting out a flower stem.
I've never had an orchid before. I always thought of them as too hard, too much work.
I keep killing mint and parsley... Both of those grow like weeds!
I've also killed a well established rosemary, so there you go.
One thing I want to do is to future proof myself a bit, have at least some amount of food security.
There are forces working against me though. Mostly depression and how it influences/impacts my energy levels.
I'll establish a plant on the verandah and then plant it out when I'm feeling good. I'll give it aftercare and do upkeep.
Until I can't.
Until I don't have the physical energy to leave the house to go into the backyard.
Or I don't have the mental or emotional energy to push myself to go outside.
Gardening or upkeeping my garden is enjoyable and for the most part not energy intensive. It's not as though I don't want to.
